Due to only receiving one preregistration payment Project Roku is being postponed till further notice.

Recoil has come out of the cracks and is coming out in Excellence.

Project Roku (’six’ in Japanese) was thought of, basically on a whim, 2 days ago and we’re getting massive support from some great people and places.

The General Idea of Roku(more detailed below):

The Details:

• General Admission is $35 if Pre Registered or $45 at the door
• Westmoreland Events Center (behind westmoreland mall) 35000 square feet of space
• Gigabit network thanks to The GXL
• Friday February 5th 3PM- Sunday February 7th 3PM
• Dedicated console section
• “Camp area” for tents and sleeping arrangements

• Madden (360) [MAJOR EVENT]
• CS:S (PC)
• DoTA (PC)
• L4D (PC)
• CoD:MW2 (360)
• DDR
• Q3A (PC)

Mini Events and Side shows:

• Glow Stick Rave
• Keen Idiot games (eg. musical chairs, milk chug, etc…)
• Who’s Line is it Anyway?

All of the present info is fairly accurate, but somewhat tentative. We will be adding many details as this progresses. Please do not let this statment scare you. This is a slated event; we’ve just been on this for a total of 2 days.

Registration is already setup, and we need people to jump on this ASAP to help pay for the intial down payment of the venue.

A floor plan and seating chart will be up sometime tomorrow; we are allowing resevations for this event.

We are also looking for volunteers and tournament managers. Please note: tournaments managers may NOT participate in the tournament.

So… we have not had an update or event in a very long time, our last event even had to be canceled. So here is what has been going on.

Over the summer Spitfire and I were so busy with work and other events we just were unable to think of planing a Recoil LAN or Halo 3 Tournament. Then in the fall we moved into our new apartment in Greensburg where we go to college at University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. We are just now at the end of October finally getting settled in and use to our lives here. But that doesn’t mean we have forgot about Recoil by any means. Recoil is what we love to do, but real life just doesn’t always allow us to follow through.

Now, we have a LAN part scheduled for January 2nd. This will be a Halo Tournament and Recoil LAN. Like how our old events used to be. More info to come on this later.

Also, for now on, every Monday I will be posting a Recoil update. Spitfire and I are starting to have weekly meetings every Monday to see where we want to take Recoil and what progress we have made in the last week. After we have the meeting I will make a post here to keep everyone updated on what is going on. Plus whatever else I feel like talking about

LASTLY, we need people to help spread the word about recoil LAN events. As we all know the more people that show up the more fun we all have. If you want to help us in anyway, be it posting on forums over the internet, making a facebook or twitter update about the event, to even handing out fliers. Let us know and we will give you all and any information or help you need.

What to bring – Computer, ethernet cable, power strip, you.

What else (Optional) – Consoles, TVs for Consoles, any other gaming stuff you can imagine.

Other Info – Ethernet cables will be up for rental (We lose a lot of them if we just let people borrow) If you are using Steam make sure that it is in offline mode before coming, and all games will be up to date.

Things are going GREAT with getting prepared for Recoils 6th LAN Party.

The main points that need to be covered for a LAN party are (power, people, network, venue…Ect.) EXCEPT for People…

We beleive that since there is not a discount for pre-registration people have not been signing-up for the LAN, however, we would greatly appriciate it if peoiple in fact did.

The registration page at the top will guide you through 2 portions. The first being getting your name and info into our database (the First page). The second portions being Payment, if your are using Paypal, Credit, or Debit.

Please note, you DO NOT have to pay when you use the registration page. Therefore; we ask, that if you are in fact planning to come, you would please register yourself.

Also, this LAN is more geared towards PC’s. We will allow consoles to be played and to use the network, but you must stil pay the $20 and be sat at a normal seat.  If may peopel do show up for console play we may dedicate a console section.

                 Doors open at 4pm, we have to be out by 3pm the next day

Cost: $20 Per person, there is a 70 person cap however so sign up soon!
